In Kaufman County, Texas, it's not only a crook that's in trouble, it's the clerk that shot him. A male suspect had entered a liquor store at 6 p.m. in the evening and allegedly stole a bottle of Hennessey. The clerk fired at the suspect, hitting him in the stomach, as well as his vehicle. The suspect was apprehended by the Sheriff's department shortly after.
The clerk is allowed to fire a gun to protect personal property in Texas, but only if it's night time. Because daylight savings took effect just a couple of weeks ago, the sun hadn't set when the weapon was discharged, and now the clerk faces felony charges.
